Sister: A connection between the stepmother and the underworld/otherworld/magical universe (in the tale of Baba Yaga, in the person of Baba Yaga herself; sometimes in the person of a witch, or even merely in the knowledge of dangerous things exhibited by the stepmother or stepsisters) is not unusual.
